Backup and Restore
Trustdom provides robust backup and restore functionality to ensure your WordPress site is always protected. Our system creates automatic daily backups and allows you to easily restore your site when needed.
Automatic Backups
Your WordPress site is automatically backed up every day without any action required on your part:
1. Access the Backups Feature
- Log in to your Trustdom dashboard
- Select your site from the sites list
- Click on the "Backups" tab in the site management menu
2. View Your Backup History
- All automatic backups are listed chronologically
- Each backup shows the date and time it was created
- Backups are retained for 30 days on all plans
- Premium plans include longer retention periods
3. Backup Contents
- Each backup includes:
- Your WordPress database (posts, pages, comments, users)
- All uploaded media files
- Themes and plugins
- WordPress core files
- Site configuration and settings
Restoring Your Site
When you need to roll back changes or recover from an issue, you can easily restore from any available backup:
1. Select a Backup to Restore
- Navigate to the "Backups" tab in your site's dashboard
- Browse through the list of available backups
- Identify the specific date/time backup you want to restore
- Click the "Restore" button next to the selected backup
2. Confirm the Restoration
- A confirmation dialog will appear with important information
- You'll be warned that current site data will be overwritten
- Confirm that you want to proceed with the restoration
3. Restoration Process
- The system will begin restoring your site from the selected backup
- A progress indicator will show the status of the restoration
- This process typically takes 3-5 minutes depending on site size
- Do not close your browser during the restoration
4. Verify Successful Restoration
- Once complete, you'll receive a success notification
- Visit your site's frontend to verify content has been restored
- Log in to WordPress admin to check settings, plugins, and themes
- Test key functionality to ensure everything is working properly
